The Marauders beat the Bradshaw Mtn. Bears in 3 games Thursday night to bring their region record to 7-2 and their overall record to 12-4. This win keeps Mingus in first place in the region with a three way tie with Flagstaff and Page. With Flagstaff losing to Coconino in a five game battle Thursday night, the Eagles are now 7-2. Page's win over Sinagua makes them 7-2. We play our last region game with Page at home and with a win can secure at least a tie with Flagstaff for region champions. If Sinagua can upset Flag and we win, we could have sole ownership of the the region. That would be the first time in 9 years since Mingus has won the region. It was 1999, when there was a 3 way tie for first in the GCR.
In the game last night vs Bradshaw, Mingus scores were 25-20, 25-12, 25-13. The Bears are currently in last place in the region, with a struggling season. The Grand Canyon Region is very unique in the fact that all the teams are competitive and on any given night any team could win. I'm really proud of the way we have handled every region game. It would have been nice to play better on the road against Flagstaff and Page. But we will have a chance to even with Page at home on November 1st like we did with Flagstaff on Oct. 14th. It is going to be a very important game for both teams.
Good Luck Mingus!
